A Michigan Technology Company gets $1.7 million for new lighting technology

An Ann Arbor-based technology company has received a $1.7 million venture capital investment to additionally commercialize its daylight simulator. Arborlight will use the microloan to market LED technology that takes the benefit of natural lighting. According to the Ann Arbor News, the company’s award-winning LightWell product is a luminaire that competes with daylight, and changes color, intensity and direction in time based on the sun’s position in the sky and location of the light. Arborlight is a byproduct from the University of Michigan’s Office of Technology Transfer.
