New Technology Making a Difference for Autism Students

For 18-year-old Grant, a student with Autism, technology has become a valuable learning tool for him. Special education teacher, Jean Glass, has been working with Grant for three years and says his augmentative communication device has become a necessity in his education. Glass says they are drawn to sounds and pictures, and adding the appropriate education piece to it can be a perfect match. Dr. Paul Glaser, a Washington University child psychiatrist says the downside of technology is teens getting addicted, but with proper supervision, the pluses outweigh the negatives when it comes to Technology.
