GET READY TO PAY
Currently the beach homeowners are beginning to worry about the new house construction regulation set by FEMA when they realize the high cost to build a safe house.
Citizens have to accept this challenges in order to rebuild their house. The new regulation set by FEMA makes it extremely expensive for new homeowners to build a house adapting to the new standard. Economically people living in Rockaways, Coney Island and Brooklyn will not be able to afford FEMA new house model design standards.
The new flood regulation imposed on houses by FEMA lists that houses should be “30’ rear yard, 19.5’ lowest occupied floor 3’-6’ rear setback and 15’ front setback”.
